Pump Operations

This course walks attendees through the fire service pump from parts and anatomy to how devices like intake and discharge relief valves work. We go over the mathematical calculations of theoretical friction loss using coefficients as well as the 3am round number math so pump operators can truly understand the importance and role of being a Driver/ Operator. We round out the class by applying the friction loss calculations into multi-lines & multi-units. We also apply the math to elevation changes both for terrain and factoring in standpipes and elevated master streams. This course integrates both classroom and hands-on field application flowing lines and allowing the Pump Operator to apply their knowledge to practical evolutions.

This course is a 32-40+ hour course.
